...or then you raise your dog well without the need for goddamn electric shocks? Ever heard of positive reinforcement and you know, caring for your dog?

Those things are banned in many countries for a reason, along with spiked chokers.

Like I said earlier, you don't have to put it on full power. Even putting it on half really isn't very strong. Before I put it on my dog I tried it and it really doesn't hurt. It more of just surprised and scares them. Like it was said before, you only have to use it for a couple months too.

And trust me I care for my dog. I love him more than anything in the world.

Yeah, yeah, I don't really doubt that you do. The results from studies of its efficiency are just a bit too controversial for me. Besides, they're banned here anyway.

Another factor was that my dog is 120 lbs of muscle. When he wants to do something there really is no stopping him. And being that big the shock collar on 1/2 power doesn't even phase him.

LOL why would u try it yourself? it clearly would hurt if it stops big dogs from escaping. cant believe u tried it.. id imagine it would hurt quite a lot

i tried it because i couldnt morally put that thing on my dog if i knew it was really painful. It was so i didnt put it on my dog and im happy I did it, one really painful time for me saved my dog from like a million.

pssh......We used to hold onto shock collars and skate down the driveway towards the street, right through the barrier and it was a lot of fun. Not at all was it some sort of prolonged pain, and isn't much different than shocking yourself at an outlet. Don't know that shock collars are necessary training devices, but I don't know that they're necessarily cruel, or at least not as cruel as some are suggesting. Further, most dogs pick up on the function of the collar very quickly, and most don't need to be shocked beyond the learning period.

Again, before I'm attacked, I don't think the collars are essential—or even necessarily the best method—in training a dog, but they are not some horrifically torturing and cruel device. I worked as an electrician's apprentice and was shocked regularly and it's nothing more than momentarily painful and startling/surprising.

Laughed so hard when you put the coke label on the jack! Goodluck. Having a good trained dog is awesome. Take him out to the gun range when he's young. Helps with the loud bangs that usually scare dogs.

I tried it on myself and didn't think it hurt that bad... I even did full power (on my arm not neck). And once I was done training my dog we used it to train my brother so we got double the use out of it.

Firstly i'm not shock collaring my dog, i dont even know who brought it up.. i'll prob just buy it some treats.

Secondly, i didn't fuck up the transitions you angry 14 year old - they are perfect. the story goes i entered this comp 2 years with a video that had a lot of effort put into it. It was beaten by another entry (made by a good mate of mine who has more internet friends than me) done on the cheap. So this year i replied with a sort of parody which took 8.5 minutes to edit.

that shit sucks i don't know if yu've ever touched one but they sting, imagine if you had them on your neck. But yeah just train the dog yourself, treats and strong willpower is all you need.

In one of my earlier posts I said that I used it on myself. Ya it stings initially but goes away fast and really isn't that bad.
