Short and sweet, Im 180 lbs, 5'8 and sheez like that. Im looking at getting the a pair of rossy steezes in a 174, would this be too short for me? I ski mainly lines in the bowls and I love to ski fast. I also ski in the trees quite abit too. And where would be a good place to get them mounted? Thanks
thats a good size choice, for mounting, if you dont ski any park, you might want a -2 or -2.5? if you do ski park i prefer center mounted. good luck my friend
I was going to mount them at center because there so short and i want more tail for landing drops. Is that a bad idea? I dont ski any park either but I will be skiing switch quite a bit
well first they arent that short, but yeah i always prefer my skis centered aswell but i ski park. for pow its not a bad idea but it will give you easier landings but a bit harder recovery from them because of the lack of the ability to lean back as much if you do big drops but yeah i mount center i find it more fun in all cases + i like switch skiing
He weighs the same as me, and in pow, a 174 is going to have the opposite effect, its going to be slower edge to edge, and harder to manuver because of the lack of float, esp. centered. I would def tell him to go in the low 180s at his weight. If he is really worried about manuverability, I would go with something in the 180s tip amd tail rockered, that will give him all of the float and all snow condition versatility and stability with out sacrificing manuverability. If I were him the shortest I would consider would be 179 ish
if you havent already bought a ski, you might want to get a kung fujas. tip and tail rocker, super light for a wider ski, and super quick edge to edge.
quite debatable... i dont really like kung fujas, they arent really a preffered pow ski and the are not very light even for a wide ski in my opinion but its all preference
