So, how many of you newschoolers read the bible? If you do read the bible, where do you like to read? I really enjoy acts. Sorry if this is a repost, I just needed somewhere to read.

Yes god Is a dick why should I praise some dude who makes you starve to prove you like him. Devil sounds like a much better dude he'll give me food if I'm hungry, and not flood an entire world.

you said "you didn't thou shall not kill" that doesnt make sense. but i understand what youre saying. So i guess a different way to say it would be with the legal system. if someone does something like kill another person the jurry won't be like "oh its ok" no they get a punishment.

also, religion does have its pro and cons. so does everyone else that doesnt have a religion, i don't agree with the statement that you need religion to have morals, cuz anyone can be bad and good with or without it. so why does it hurt cuz in the end when you die the religious man was either right or if there is nothing after life then thats it.

read it. a lot of the stuff is horseshit. other passages, i cant really say its bad, but for a god inspired book, its pretty lame.

but there are certain "approaches" to finding the answers who were proven complete horseshit and others who over the course of time lead to a better understanding and will eventually push god into even smaller gaps.

true. tho ill admit i have problems with religion too. the original point of it was to expand ones personal faith with God, not provide all these other poop answers. jus like the old saying: religion is flawed  because man is flawed.

He can tho, if you were god you could do whatever the hell you wanted. and i said i dont have the answer to everything so that makes me have 0 logic? gee thanks, so please explain to me the theory of anti matter and how the accidental spoof in the universe rose to where we are now with out looking it up. and if you dont have the answer to that it makes you have zero logic. i guess so?

how was that incorrect i believe the story goes, god told jesus to walk into the desert and not eat and drink for 40 days and 40 nights. I haven't read the bible in about 10 years so that may be incorrect.

im not talking about the basic story :P im talking about how said nser was viewing it. he thinks that the devil is a good guy (not gonna say whether he is or not but thats just what he said) and that god is the bad guy for not letting him eat and testing his faith.

sorry you originally said "how is that wrong" so you made it seem like you did know it... but anyway it was a test of Jesus's faith toward God and providing answers in the scripture. when ever the devil would tempt Jesus, he would refer back to scripture and rely on god than falling into what the devil was providing. kinda like a parable how when you are tempted just remember the scriptures and you can overcome said temptation

I didn't really read past the first page, but there are a lot of very immature people in this thread.
He wasn't trying to thrust his religion in your face, just asking where you like to read if you do. So fuck off.

Also, if any of you ignorant fucks actually read it, it's really entertaining sometimes. I think before you talk shit on it, you should have to read it.

Take what you want from it, but if you don't follow every single word from it, you can't use it as a back up in a debate.


Don't use the "a man shall not lie with a man as he lies with a woman" If you wear clothes with mixed fabrics or eat shellfish.

Do say: one of the overarching themes is to be a good person, I can do that.
