If you are smart get a nylon NATO band at least, rubber and silicone bands wear out more quickly then you think. If one of the springbars (the little metal bits that keep the band on the case break, or if the band breaks your watch will be swimming.
A nylon Nato band will not break, and even if one of the spring bars goes loose, your watch will still be on the band. Also because no metal is touching your skin just the nylon they feel really comfortable.
They are made of a special nylon that won't stretch if it gets wet, they dry quickly and are even comfortable when they are wet (rubber/silicone straps feel like some weird sex toy when wet.)
It's a bit hard to explain so I took a pic of my vintage 70's Seiko Diver that has a (James Bond) style NATO strap, they are very easy to put on a watch and can be get for pretty cheap.
They are designed for military use so they last, and you won't lose your watch.
And this is how it looks from the front:
And one note: that omega will easily outlast the luminox, but then again, they aren't cheap.
