Replying to Post Ratings

I just had a quick thought.. What if we set up a system of rating people's posts?

The karma system works well to rate other people in general, I know I up someone's karma when they post something super helpful that is a legit response to the thread. But that's a rating of the person in general, not just their post.

For legit questions, if someone posts a helpful answer, have a point system to rate it up. No more quoting to reply "this" , just rate the post higher.

Following up on that, a way to organize the posts would be pretty stellar as well. At the top of the thread, it could have a drop box where you can select to sort thread by chronological order or by rating.

This could help speed up and make searches much more useful, too.
