maybe if you actually listened to lil' wayne carefully and dropped your complex for a second, you would be able to catch even some of the word play. every time i listen to him, i am amazed at how well he manipulates the english language. i mean every single bar is like this. you don't listen close enough to pick up on this, which lets me know that's how you listen to all hip-hop, which lets me know i shouldn't take you too seriously. i love lil' wayne and gucci mane, and i also know more about hip-hop than you could ever hope to imagine. it's all about being well-rounded. making these threads doesn't make anyone who is serious about hip-hop respect you anymore b/c you don't like lil' wayne and think you're "underground". it just lets us know that you have no idea what's up. i'm willing to bet you found half of your favorite artists from ski movies and pretty much stopped there-you didn't explore any further, you didn't try out new styles of the genre, nothing, and for that, you suck.

hahaha exactly what i was thinking. If you really know about hip hop then you would know that Wayne although caters to some people has lead a revolution that has killed the diversity of the rap game. Love him or hate him you can't deny this. I'm not the one to bash other people's music taste but you can't tell me Lil Wayne's raps are clever and meaningful when he uses elementary metaphors and lackluster word play.

read *well-rounded* retard. and hell yeah i like lil' wayne and gucci mane! at this point, i have such a good grasp on everything hip-hop that i don't limit myself to one type of it. i listen to whatever i'm in the mood for. i'm listening to "gucci gucci" off of "sorry 4 the wait" as we speak and that shit is sick. the problem with most of you guys is that you severely limit yourself in regards to discovering really dope hip-hop because you either a.) don't put enough time into following the trail of dope artists or b.) feel like there are some areas of the genre you just can't touch because you feel like you won't be "underground" if you venture into that territory. i'm here to tell you that that's all bullshit-liking lil wayne and gucci mane does not exclude me from knowing a ton about hip-hop. it is that type of thinking that's kept you in your musical rut from day one dude. props to the people who posted some gang starr, etc after to "show" that they must know what's up. but even that is like a fucking beginner's guide to hip-hop. i have yet to see anyone in these types of threads post up some truly quality hip-hop. and yeah to each his own, but if you tell me you like rhymesayers, def jux, blue scholars, seattle area hip-hop, that just ain't gonna cut it for me. for some reason i really can't stand any of that stuff. i myself am a purist meaning i'm all about nyc in the early-mid 90s. but i know a lot of people on here seem to be pretty knowledgeable about some of the newer dudes, and i respect that part-at least you know a lot about it and can rep it well. it's really the people who don't know shit about hip-hop in general that seem to be the biggest haters of wayne, and that's what bothers me. you know yourself that you know very little about hip-hop and you think that the louder you whine about wayne, the more people will think you know about hip-hop. it's easier for you b/c then you don't really have to learn the genre and can just cop out instead by hating.
