Silencing camera shutter

Hi guys
i have a canon 7d right now. any way i can silence the shutter, for photographing quiet stuff i.e. golf? (i know you can do it in liveview, but i want to know if you can do it with the viewfinder). thanks in advance

Does it have mirror lockup? It still might make the slap, but it won't be as bad. Also, you won't be able to see through the finder so that might be a downside... It really needs to be that quiet?

you wont be able to do it looking through the viewfinder, because the mirror going up is what makes the most noise!
