ive heard that aluminum rails are really bad for your skis or dont slide well or something.
How can you tell if a rail is made of aluminum? Theres a couple of rails around that arent steel, and thy feel like the outside of an amp can, is thtwhat aluminum feels like?
I wouldn't be using skis you care about for urban, the stairs are going to do more damage then the rail regardless of what it is made from. You can easily tell if its aluminum by tapping the rail, if it makes a hollow sounds and has a soft texture it must be. If you really want to try one remove your edges underfoot on a pair of junk skis, it''s the only way.
you'll be able to tell it's aluminum cause it's softer etc. and yeah theyre really hard to slide.. i found out the hard way a long time ago on a picture perfect rail. but like someone said if you just have to hit it and have beat skis around, you could take out the underfoot edges but i wouldnt bother unless it's the world's greatest rail
wallet clip... magnetic jacket buttons... throw a quarter sized magnet in your pocket before you go out... your on newschoolers asking for help lol thats a pretty good way to tell
