Help! Canon AE-1 W/ 50mm lens, external flash, and other thing.

So I just got back from my Aunt's house where I picked up a new toy. It's a Canon AE-1 camera from 1980 (The official camera of the 1984 Olympic Committee. I tried to figure out the camera myself, but I'm so lost. This goes way over my head right now, there's so many random buttons and I'd really appreciate it if you guys could help me out to understand the different features and what not.

In other news, I just ordered a Canon FD > Nikon DSLR adapter, and I still don't know a thing about this camera.

its an easy camera to figure out. I can't see what you'd have a problem with, its about as easy to operate as a point and shoot

I figured out why nothing was working.....there was no battery in the cam, and the film in it was full. -________-

fell pretty stupid right now
