If you hash tag it (# sign), when you make ur tweet you can click on it and see everyone who has also hashtagged the same thing. For example, if your going skiing in whistler, maybe you make your tweet "Headed to go #Ski in #Whistler for the week! So pumped. #SkiOrDie" or something. You can click and see people who are also mentioning whistler and skiing and find people with similar interests. Hope that helps.
