Salomon Skis

Ok guys so Salomon warrenteed my 2011 Salomon Suspects and the shop that I go to said that I can either keep the 2012 Salomon Suspects for nothing, or pay $180 for the 2012 Salomon Twenty Twelves. I was wondering which deal you guys would prefer for yourself?

Fuck Salomon.. seriously all you get it shitty broken skis. Anyways I would go with the Twenty Twelves since they are a little more durable.

Dude seriously, save the money and go with salomon. I hate salomon for making shit skis, but if u look at pretty much any park skier sponsored by them, they all have suspects. They're just a better park ski than the 2012. As long as u dont mind losing topsheet and dont hit 70ft booters everyday, u should be fine

every park skier sponsored by salomon rides suspects because they get free ones when they break weekly. go with the twenty twelves, I've heard nothing but good things about them so far.

Right they break them hitting huge booters or urban. I assume OP isnt the most badass rider out there so he'll be fine with suspects since its still pretty hard to break a ski. But dude if u realy wanna put down another 180$ to get a peoduct that will dissapoint u because it doesnt perform well in park due to how large it is, go ahead. But unless ur some huge skier, u should get suspects

average park skiers break suspects all the time. they either get 200 edge cracks or snap in half. honestly they're terrible.

Agreed but OP wants salomons but i think that putting down 180 bucks for the same shitty ski but larger is retarded but hey if u've got that kind of cash to throw around..

Pls tell me ur kidding right now! Have i been having a debate about skis with someone who doesnt even know who makes the skis? Yes, salomon makes twenty twelves. They suck just as bad as suspects and the only reason u hear less about how bad they are is because no one buys them. They'll break just as easy as suspects, same makers, same quality

of course I know salomon makes 2012s, above when I quoted you, "yes but op wants salomons" looks like you didn't know saloman makes the 2012s. and they are not the same ski. the 2012s have rockered tips and tails and the 2012s have an extra layer of elastomer aka rubber above the wood core.

Get pro pipes bro! They're basically a lighter suspect with a race base, and the sidewalls chip wayyy less. Also, they don't have salomon's shitty edge armour. It's like they fixed every problem that people have with suspects. Prime.

Like im a pretty good park skier like i fucked up the suspects so hard. and I know some kids sponsored by salomon that love the twenty twelves and they held up great.

I would stick with the suspect personly. The durability is not really an issue any more, they wear the same as any ski, I had salomons and armadas this year and they both look the same. The 2012 are great all mountain skis, they are great at carving and really good in powder for quite a narrow ski. There not amazing in the park, there very easy but if your good at park allready I think you would prefer the suspect. I had the 2012 last year, got suspects for this season. They pop so well and there light. Kind of stiff, but I had Thalls last season as my main park ski, so everything is stiffer then those. The pro pipes ride really well too. There stiffer then the suspect and have the race base, so if your into kickers and pipe the most they may well suit you even better then the suspect. Hope that helps

Just to say, 2012's actually sold allot more then suspects last year. Not all to park skiers though, there a great all mountain ski which means it has a much bigger mass market apeal.

the durability is still much of an issue i have friends that went through 2 pairs of suspects and are on their third pair, edge armor is terrible

Do yourself a huge favor and get the suspects and immediately sell them on here or eBay, etc......then go out and buy a decent ski from a company that has a "real" customer service and actually gives a crap about their customers....I'm am still blown away that people still support that company....sure they treat their athletes like gold and that's commendable but they crap all over the little guy who is actually paying for their product.

i dont get why the fuck you guys hate so hard on salomon, their skis are no worse than any other company, probly better. they dont brake. you guys probly have never even rode them or if you have have not broke them. they are way better then you think, you just really want to fit in on the internet../rant

Just wanted to say something regarding that last post. I hear all the time people use the argument that the team riders go through a pair a week. Now that is more, that salomon want there athleathes on a new pair of skis for every event, so that there is no worries regarding equipment issues. This does not mean that the old skis are trashed, there usally a little beaten on the edges but still totally rideable, its just that at the very top end of the sport any advantage that an athlete can get will be tacken. I have seen skis from xgames athletes, that are simply trashed but there still using them as they dont always have the option of getting new skis straight away, from the sponser. But any top end athlete will genrally be ridding new skis for the big events, there is simply no reason to ride old skis if your going for a win. When dumont was on the team, he would have upto 3 pairs of brand new pro pipes available to him for a contenst. Now those skis could be easily used again, but why bother when he can have 3 new pairs for the next event.

I would ask the shop if they can get some pipe pro's in and pay a little extra for them. If you liked how the suspects ski they are pretty much the same just more durable. Or try and demo the 2012's cause you might not like how they ride.

I have a pair of suspects and they are pretty damn good , they kill it everywhere.
