It's about goddam time. 

I'll be camping atop a north facing mountain in VT, lying on my back and watching it all unfold.  It's like Imax but more chill.

Saw a few meteors the other night actually while chilling on my deck.

What I gathered from that article though was that the shower this year would be "meh" compared to past years, and the moon would also seriously impact visibility.

Anyone catch the Northern lights this past Friday? I was looking, but couldn't catch anything in the sky at the time. Few sick photos are floating around though from the New England on Friday night.

Ya I saw some meteors last night, which is what made me google it and find this article.

Unfortunately I couldn't see the Northern Light in MN. Well atleast by the cities idk about up north.

Ya I knew that. I just figured I'd try because i have always wanted to see them and had nothing better to do than sit out have ave some beers with friends

I had no idea it was going to be happening. I was sitting on the back deck and my twitter feed went off about it (I follow a number of meteorologists - it's for the snow forecasts alone, I swear!! :P).

If you get the chance to see one away from light pollution, take it. It's an awesome display for sure.

There's nothing that will knock you a peg or two down and humble you like looking up into the night sky. You suddenly realize that you are a pretty TINY part of the universe around you.
