Help recording with t3i!

I was recording a little bit today and after about a minute into the video its says "video has stop recording automatically" i am using a Lexar 8gb class 6 100x SD card. There was a red light blinking on the bottom right of the camera if that means anything. I did a little bit of research and people came up with overheating, but it couldnt have been, because i wasnt filming long, and it wasnt hot.

PLEASE HELP!!!

it does not matter if it is hot outside, seems like overheating to me. never had that problem with my t3i even when filming for 1 hour straight for timelapse......

i literally turned the camera on and just started to film, had it on for mabye 30 seconds before i filmed, how does that happen?

you film for an hour strait for a time lapse? dude, timelapses are made with a series of pictures. speeding up hours of video is a waist of time and space on the HD. get an intervalometer.

on a side note. maybe its just cuz you have a shitty SD card. i would recommend getting a sandisk 30mb/s SDHC card. I use CF cards but mine are 60mb/s and 30mb/s and it allows your camera to read and write to the card much faster. so maybe it was just mad about your card. not too sure tho.

i found this intresting. i turned down the brightness on my LCD screen and it seems to be recording fine now. i was shooting in pretty low light and had my brightness on my LCD screen turned up alot. weird.

what is a waist of time.... filming an hour or taking picture for an hour......... when it is over an hour i use an intervalometer but under that i prefer filming........ personnal preferences ;)

and for the lcd screen going darker.....weird hahahha i'll have to try it out with brightness to max just to test it!

yeah someone metioned it on DVX user and i gave it a try and it seemed to work fine. haha, i just hope it stays that way

I get that all of the time on my T2i, it's simply an issue that in my mind cannot be solved. Just gotta deal with it

regardless of what it is, you should get a better SD card. i recommend a class 10

yeah i was planning on ordering a few once i got back from out east, its just i didnt have time and didnt wanna pay doube the price you would online, so i just got a cheap one at bestbuy. does it matter like what the number is before class 10? like 100x or whatever?

eh i'm not too sure what that really is.


i recently bought a transcend 16gb class 10 card (on top of a kingston one and a sandisk one) and i've been pretty happy with it so far

I just ordered a 16GB sandisk extreme class 10 card for like 40 bucks on amazon. Free 2 day shipping with a student account. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
