don't not get sony, but that's been said before.
it really depends on what you're going to be listening to, and how obnoxious you want to be.
personally I went the as obnoxious as possible route, and put 2 12's in the trunk. (nissan versa hatchback).
You're going to need a new head-unit, an amplifier, a box for the subs, and a wiring kit.
the head unit needs to have amp outputs, without this, it'll be difficult to send a signal to the amp.
the amp needs to have a RMS range from about 50%-100% of the subs RMS. (this can be debated, but I'd rather not run the risk of blowing subs out, and keep them underpowered.)
The box needs to have a big enough volume for the sub (this depends on the sub).
The wiring kit needs to be a low gauge, I want to say I have 4 gauge wire now in my car, and it seems to work well.
oh, and if anyone says you need a capacitor, tell them to eat a dick. all a capacitor does is drain alittle power over time, and then release it all at once. for the price of a capacitor, just get a bigger amp.
also, you might want to look into doing this in phases.
1. replace headunit
2. replace stock speakers
3. install amp
4. install sub
Here's what i'm running.
and i'll be putting these in next paycheck
