It's pretty sad to see him leave, He's been a true Yankee player for 17 years now.. And imo still had alot of baseball with the yankees still left in him.

Thoughts?

I would have tossed his ass to the curb earlier in the season when he was whining like a little bitch. He should have been thankful that he was even in the line up then let alone bitching about batting 9th.

Posada is washed up and done. He has absolutely nothing left.

He has over 1,600 career hits, a .275 average and 1000+ RBI... He was good, only 9 HRs this year though.

he's washed up. dude is about to turn 40 and he's not hitting the ball. i'm not surprised. i hate the yankees but girardi got it right, he's playing the 9 guys he thinks will do the most for the team and right now posada's not one of them. in professional sports, you win championships by any means necessary. its not little league anymore.

Posada is a great ballplayer, also the yankees are trying to ruin their organization, messing up when the had to resign Jeter and now with Posada, they need to return to the ways of Steinbrenier, who could run the team like a boss, and get them to win a world series

The problem with the Sox is that fans think of the team as a bunch of rag-tag guys who get by because they're scrappy and play with heart and whatnot and that the Yankees are the evil empire. The fact is, you're both teams that are only good because your owners are loaded and can buy A-Gon, Beltre, Crawford etc. etc.
Lackey is also a massive cunt. I know he has personal issues and whatnot, but hes said some pretty douchebag things... He also sucks at baseball.
Papi is cool, and Ellsbury is good... thats about it.



Anyways, you're all fucked soon. Jays are going to get shit done the next few seasons.... Jose, Rasmus, Escobar, Lind, Lawrie, Snider (hopefully) JPA (or d'arnaud when hes called up)... going to be a damn good lineup soon enough. Watch yo back.

while i won't debate this because it's true, ellsbury, pedroia, youkilis, papelbon, lester, buchholz, bard, varitek and a few others are all home grown players who came up through the farm system. in that list you have an mvp, a rookie of the year, multiple gold gloves, multiple all star appearances, consecutive 50 stolen base seasons, a silver slugger or two, etc etc. you get my point. not to mention john lester beat cancer, threw a no hitter and clinched the world series before he was 25...

Even if they came up through the farm system, it takes a lot of money to keep players like that around. So if you take away their original contract, it's basically the same as going out and getting big money players.

yeah thats a valid point, i was just trying to convey the fact that not all of the big time players on the red sox are completely store bought. its definitely costly to keep high profile players like that around and satisfied, but you also have to take into consideration their scouting, etc. my buddy was drafted by them first round this year so it'll be cool to see how that all pans out.
