Slowmotion help (kinda)

Alright so i know how to get slowmotion and all that shit but i want to know how to make a clip slowly go into slow motion.
Like in this edit:

At around 1:23ish

How do i do this and what is it called?

this is what i would do on fcp7(if i understand you correctly).

cut the clip up where you want the slowmotion parts..then change the speeds of the different parts of the clip. use what ever speeds look good and slow enough for your liking. does this make sense? it makes sense in my head haha.

^I kinda get what you're saying, is this called ramping speed? Or something like that? I have sony vegas so im not really sure how to do this, or if you can do it

Insert>>>Video Envelopes>>>Event Velocity
This should bring up a green line on your clip, the lower it is, the slower the video goes. Now double click on the part of the line where you want the video to slow down and drag that part of the line lower, double click again and make it slower yet. Once you do this enough time it will look like your video slows down gradually.

Ramped slow mo is the term you might be looking for.

i think this is what you're looking for, i dont use vegas but this video seemed about right. but there called ramp slow mo's, used in skateboarding edits a lot.
