Replying to armada bases

can anyone explain the difference between diff kinds of bases and the pros and cons of different ones?
also, what kind of base do armadas have?

and i heard black bases are generally faster than others...so do u think the green and black ar5s and faster than the red ones? i know thats a stupid question
