Help a kid out.

I would say I ride mostly downhill, really enjoying sending stuff and just cruising.. But I love the lines with more flow at the local dirt jump park. I've done all my research and everything, but can't make the final decision.

Soooo, NS should vote.

I agree to go with the slopestyle bike, but don't get a Kona. If you've got the money get the Blk Mrkt Killswitch. It's such an awesome bike. But if that's too expensive there are a lot of other good bikes out there. You should go ask this on pinkbike.com. They're going to be a lot more helpful than 99% of Newschoolers.

Dub post, too. But transitions are great bikes. Especially the tr450 and tr250. The 250 is a little more versatile so that's another option you have. Check out their site, too. The bottlerocket and double are also bikes in between dh and dj that you may want to look into.

Yes this alot but take it slow cuz I just had a friend at my local bike park who hadn't been riding for too long hit a huge jump and break his arm, get a concussion and go into shock. here's the vid of it.

dj hardtail. way more versatile. you can ride street, park, dj, xc, and even light freeride and dh. unless you have the money to buy a sweet 4-5 inch travel full sus frame like the transition bottlerocket/ double or kona bass or something. those are the shit.

Def go with the killswitch. My buddy has one and it rides amazing. Ive even ridden some street on it and it made me feel more confident than on my bmx

light freeride bike. Giant makes a few good ones.

you can always jump on the freeride bike but cant downhill on a dirt jumper.

short travel is the new long travel. and its still the new short travel too. I am downsizing from a 7" full suspension to a 5". they are snappier, jumpier, easier to maneuver, etc. you can ride something like that on everything too.

YESSSSSSSS wait till next year and get the NS bike thats going to be a freeride bike. It's gunna be 31 pounds. You can ride it in the bike park and ride it xc

most dj lines are doable with freeride bikes, just absorb and maintain a little more speed until you get to the bigger stuff at the end. also a slope bike could work well, but i dont have any experience with them.

yea and you can usually switch the rear suspension off if you want.

Ive ridden a bike where there is a little lever turing the suspension on and off. So downhilling you can have it on and jumping its off.
