Went there the other day with no intentions of hiking to the top, I just want to check out tuckermans ravine (which would be a bitch to hike with all your ski gear). Busted my ass to the summit in 2 hours and made it down even quicker. I couldt believe the amount of old people and fat kids trying to make it to the top, they had no idea what was coming to them while still hiking up below the treeline.
it's not as bad as you think with ski gear. If the snow goes all the way to the bottom you could most likely skin up to the base. I went there 5 times this year and I will admit it is quite the workout haha. The best times to go in winter are a couple days after a snow storm and sunny days in the spring when it is a fucking party
