hi, I've been looking to get some new skis but i can't decide which one. I'm 5'9 intermediate, and around 110lbs, my last ski was line chronic. i liked them but i want a softer ski, i was looking at the armada halo but idk about the rocker?
Chronics are a super soft ski. T halls are playfull and butttery but stiff underfoot for jumps. If you know how to butter right you can do it on almost any ski. Get the t halls. Id say the 176's
THalls and Halos should be softer than Chronics, they're meant to have a softer flex pattern, they are soft in different ways though. For example, the Halo is soft because of the rocker, so it's not that it's a soft ski, it just feels soft, while the THall has a soft tip and tail but stiff underfoot so this allows the rider to put more pressure on the tip and tail without having to do more work because his underfoot is very stable (unlike say Afterbangs which need to have a soft core to butter because they bend underfoot instead of hinging....not necessarily a bad thing, just different).
If you want a softer ski than the Chronic, but will still preform well, look at the Liberty LTE (cambered) and the K2 Domain (rockered). The Halo and THall aren't bad options either, I've owned a few Armadas and really liked them. I do have to say that the Domain and the Phil Larose (old name for LTE) are the two best soft park skis I've owned so far (and that includes a bunch of Lines).
