Going to Fernie

So yeah me and my dad are going to ski at fernie in January. Were planning to ski for 5 days and were searching for a good priced on hill hotel or condo. Were looking on the internet but if youve been there post the place you stayed and if you liked it. Oh and post your opinion of the hill. thx.

I was there last winter. It kicked ass. Make sure you get a local to show you around because theres alot of good stuff that you won't find on your own.

not sure about on hill but the super 7 or 8 or whatever in town is 73 a night for 4 people I believe.

yeah, fernie is sick. i stayed on the mountain, but i dont remember what it was called. town is just a few miles away, and i imagine quite a few hotels will offer free shuttles to the lift many times a day, and im sure town is cheaper to stay at than a ski in-ski out deal. good luck

Can't bet on weather ever...I went for 16 days in feb...0 cm of snow...should have bet against that in Vegas.

We stayed at the timberline, which is a couple minutes (literally, minutes) walk away, and a nice place, and one of the more affordable.

Pretty much everywhere has shuttles that run to the downtown (In fernie the town is away from the hill, so if you're on the hill, you'll need to drive or bus to get groceries, etc.)

Great terrain, I'd suggest Jan or Feb will probably show the most snow historically, although March skiing can be the best since if you miss on the snow you get the good tan...

yah Fernie weather is hard to count on but I'd say late January is probably the safest(contition wise) and quietest time to come caus feb and march are full of school breaks, and as for accomidation most of the places on the hill are fairly overpriced but I'd say that timberline and the griz are cheapest, theres also the wolfs den wich is more like a motel and I think its really cheap.

december 21st - january 8th is the highest of high season, but it's fernie, so don't expect to wait in line all day and once you're on the mountain, don't expect someone to stumble across your broke ass body to quickly. If you stay in town, hitching is easy, but waits can be long during the high times. There is a shuttle that runs, no free ones that i know of but i think this one costs 2 bucks each way or something. On mountain is conveniant, but 'real' fernie scene is in the town...if you plan on drinking, the mountain isn't the best place.

high season would be the bussiest time of the year.. and Steve, chrismass last season was funkin retarded, white pass was backed up past the trail map.
