Filmed this with the 35mm 1.4, such a sick lens-colors on it are pretty amazing. All hand held filming except for the two slider shots, the image stabilization effect works pretty well. I'm trying everything in Final Cut X before I make the decision to move back to 7.

That was brilliant. Such a good vibe, looked like a perfect summer party, and the camera work and editing was spot on.

That lens looks pro in low-light. Song made me want to put nails in my ears, but it flowed well with the vibe of the party

Definitely saw some rolling shutter in some shots, unfortunately, post stabilization can make it worse. Glide cam :)

I know, the food pan got it. So much stuff on the camera equipment list not sure whether to pull the trigger on the glidecam or not. Whats the formula to not have rolling shutter?

Might be my favorite canon lens to date next to the 70-200 2.8 IS, Towards the end of the night it was super dark and it still worked pretty good around ISO 1600, little noisey but not too bad. Not a fan of that song either but, ya gotta make the owners happy sometimes.

Looks like a decent lens.
Is it just me, or is there a dead pixel just to the right from center? It seems too small and sharp to be dust. Most shots I couldn't notice it if I wasn't looking for it, but from 2:35 to 2:45 or so (the dark shots) it was really apparent.

Not bad dude. Liked the vibe. How do you like FCPX? I downloaded it, tried it, got a refund and it still works.
I just can't wrap my head around the limitations of it...only two tracks.

It is super limited, there some cool factors to it and the rendering takes less time which is nice. The only reason why I have not gone back to 7 already is just knowing that this is what apple is going to move forward with and hopefully they will update the program to change some of the setbacks. So, just trying to get around the issues is my main goal and hopefully it will work out. I am thinking about giving avid a try in the next few months if I am held back too much in the current limitations. But, in all honesty the more I use it the more I figure out ways to get around the initial problems that affected me personally.

Word, Yeah i still write to tape so thats a big loss for me. Not to mention no XML for Coloring and post work...YIKES and only 2 layers blows.
I already pulled the plug and switched to Premiere. I've still seen some decent work out of FCPX, its just everyones videos look more and more the same with all the easy presets.

Absolutely, that is what really bothers me. Not being able to differentiate yourself from others will not be good. Hopefully more 3rd party plugins will appear to fix that issue.

If you have any experience I'd switch to Premiere 5.5. It already has all the plugins and you don't have to worry whether they'll ever release them.
