My cat gave me a cold

My cat has been sneezing for the last few days. He has been coughing and weezing and trying to clear his throat too, but mostly sneezing. I saw him shoot a booger across a room. It was incredible.

My mom thought he had feline herpes, which apparently causes sneezing in cats. We took him to the vet today, they told us to sit on it for a while, hopefully he gets better.

He has also been acting pretty rambunctious. One morning he wasn't acting like he was sick and he rolled around and leaned on me and bit my feet like a million times, and tried attacking a completely still pile of clothes.

Just now, I have started feeling very sniffly. I think my cat gave me a cold. I have been picking him up and holding him quite a bit, trying to make him feel better I guess, and I think he sneezed once while I was holding him.

I really hope I didn't catch feline herpes, and just got a cat cold.

I think I am starting to feel better, but my cat is still a bit sneezy.

I really hope this goes away, for both of us.



Does anybody know about the power of a human immune system vs feline immune system? My cat has had his cold for about a week now, and I really hope mine doesnt last that long. I think that there must have been some research done comparing the immunity of humans versus their average household pets somewhere, but I can't find anything!

Isn't this not possible? I was under the impression that the viruses that effect cats and dogs do not effect humans and visa versa.

Normally that is the usual assumption. However it is a common mis-conception.

What actually happens is that tamed animals that have lived with a human for an extended period begin to eventually contract human genes that can effectively conform with the animals genes and create mutant bi-specie chromosomes.

Well cats always land on their feet so clearly their made of tough shit. On the other hand dogs get sick from small things like chocolate and I eat chocolate all the time and I'm as healthy as a horse(and that phrase suggests that horses have stronger immune systems than humans cause when have you ever heard someone say that they're as healthy as a human? however I'm not sure if you would consider horses an average household pet so I don't know if that counts). However you do have to take into account that there are way more people in hospitals than pets.

So all in all I'd have to say its inconclusive whether humans or pets have stronger immune systems.

My mother linda has a horse and it's a nasty son of a bitch i'll tell ya.

Irt once stepped on my toes once when i was wearing no shoes and i was pretty inclined to brand it with an anti-horse symbol for about 30 seconds until i manned up and slapped him for the mistake.

The only viral infection you can catch from your cat is rabies seeing as that is the only zoonotic viral infection, so no; you didn't catch a cold from your cat. It's just not possible.

You probably should be looking into somebody who is a cross-bread between the three.

Maybe look into a good physician specialist, they should be able to diagnose the human gene, but look into a veterinarian that has quite a bit of experience as a surgery may gave to be performed which will involve splicing the cats human and cat genes to remove the human particles from it. They will then have to inject cat DNA into your spinal cord to morph your human and cat genes which will effectively give you an immunity to your cat/human sickness.

No that doesn't make any sense.

You see the genes of a cat are lesser that of the human chromosome because we are more evolved. Therefor it is impossible for a cat gene to overpower our natural DNA which also is much larger in capacity seeing as it's been with you for longer and only a couple billion cat cells will be injected.
