Please guys read the whole thing, I just want a refund. I don't feel as if Merrill, who i purchased skis from, was trying to scam me. Just a misunderstanding on damage, I no longer want the skis, and he won't let me ship them back and get a refund.
So a while back, i was interested in Merrill's 172 HHPs. He said he would give them to me for 215 dollars, but a lot of other kids wanted them, so i had to give him 100 right then and there and then he would ship them out after another 115 dollars when a kid got back from camp that he'd told could borrow his skis.
Fast forward 2 or 2 and a half weeks, and he's ready to ship. I asked him to check if anything had changed or been damaged by the kid who took him to camp (note he said the kid was a beginner). He said he found "a bend." This is the message he sent me:

ok i found a really small like bend in the front of the left ski. I never would have noticed it, its that small. none of the edges are cracked either. I'm sure it will ski the exact same. its just like the natural bend of the ski is like alittle off in that area. im not sure you'll be able to see it but i took some pictures of it and ill send it to you.

these are the pictures that he sent later when i asked for them:
from these pictures, nearly nothing looks wrong with the ski. i thought maybe he was talking about an edge dent or something similar, maybe a gouge in the ski or dent in the topsheet as he wasn't too clear in his message. so i told him that i wasn't really worried, and that he should send the skis right away. which i'll be honest, he did. he sent them quickly, gave them a tracking number, etc. i was thrilled as i had been searching for HHP's forever, and had finally found a decent pair.
fast forward about 10 days. the skis arrive. HOORAY YAY WAHOO!
not.
the so called "natural bend" that was "off" included a cracked topsheet and a rockered front tip. if i ride on these, i know i'm going to snap them right away as soon as i land switch and leaning forward or trying to nosepress or butter.
also, this is the message i sent him about the pictures, i think it proves a good point:

i did not deny that you sent me pictures. i did however, say that you failed to send a side profile view picture, one where the sidewall of the ski faces the camera. from that screenshot you sent me, you can tell that in that picture there is no possible way to see the way that ski bent, which would be up and away from the carpet. since i would think when picturing damage in a photo someone would choose the best angles to portray the damage, i thought that you were showing me all of the damage as best you could and since i could not see any i figured it was minuscule and unimportant.
however i do agree on the fact that i should have asked you to send me more pictures.
------------------------------------------------------------
so i asked if i could send them back, pay for shipping, etc. and get a refund. he refused and said that i bought the skis and he sent me pictures of the damage. he also said that i should just ride them and see, which frankly is retarded.
he's screwing me over. if i ride them and they snap, i'm out 215 dollars and with no good pair of skis (i have a pair of anthems in urban condition missing over a foot of edge)
I told him if he thinks they're rideable, he should accept them back and try to resell them. But he told me no, that i should make a sale thread instead. So, i made a callout thread.
struggling to find out what to do. if anybody wants these for 200 dollars then let me know lol, cause i'm SOL right now.
HELP ME NS I JUST WANT A PAIR OF RIDEABLE SKIS AND TO NOT LOSE 215 DOLLARS.
