Now that I have your attention. :)


This just in FoxConn, an electronics manufacturer in China that makes your Apple, HP, Nokia, products; among other companies, recently reported they plan to have 1 million robots installed in their factories in the next couple of years. Up from 10 thousand currently. These robots will handle menial, repetitive tasks currently being preformed by humans.

Currently Foxconn is China's largest private sector employer.

I come to the fountain of knowledge that is NS asking one question. good, or bad?

Robots are more efficient and you don't have to provide them with any health coverage...except insurance just in case those fuckers break.

you know how most Americans complain about not being able to find a job? well china is about to fuck their people over and cause a lot of anger. this will be great for the companies, but i can not imagine the amount of protesting that will occur if this does happen in the next few years.

It is better for the company. Not better for the workers who are going to be laid off.

But a company's job is to put money back into R & D so they can find ways to produce things more efficiently. It is business and sucks for the people who are going to get laid off but I mean it's just a company progressing how things are done and I think progression and better efficiency is best for a company.

Good in business senses but bad in the morals sense (since laying off hundreds of thousands of people isn't really a good thing to do).

But these are the things that are necessary for a business to takes its manufacturing to the next level.

There will never be a right answer..This is good in some ways and bad in others. And it sucks but there are necessary evils in order to provide things are cheaper prices and that are quickly manufactured and replacing people with robots is just one of them.
