Salomon quest 8 boots

If they were the best fitting and you are ok with the flex, then yeah it will be a great boot for you. Its designed as a alpine boot with a walk mode if you want to do a little touring. It has got a soft heel like an SPK so it will work ok in the park. Sizing is a bit odd on quests though as they are cut slightly longer then most boots to give you room for walking in them. If you do not plan on touring in them maybe try the size below as a comparison. Remember boots want to feel very tight in the shop. We always say, if you were buying a shoe in the same size it wants to feel like its a size to small, ie very tight. If it feels at all loose in the shop try a few differnt things. Dont forget your footbeds either, the quest has a reasonable high instep so you can get a good arch support in nicly which will greatly inprove the fit and performance. Cheack the size again once you have the custom footbeds as they will often make your foot slightly shorter. Hope that helps

Whether or not they good depends on how they fit first and foremost so always keep that in mind.  As for specifics the Quest 8 comes from Salomon's sidecountry series of boots, meaning it is designed to be a bit lighter in weight and easy to hike in.  At 90 flex is it towards the soft side so don't expect super high end response but it is mellow and easy skiing.  I am always a bit weary of boots with ski walk mechanisms for pure park use but the Quest's is pretty low profile and seems durable and hard to break.  My company has a video about it up on our site if you have any other questions.

Get fitted for some good footbeds and you will be all set.

i cracked the shell and ripped the buckel off. on 25 foot cliff perfect landing. great touring boot but i like my full tilts more

Anyone had a chance to own and ride any one of the quest boots yet? I'm looking at the quest access 80, but its got some weird parts on it, that third buckle up is screwed up with the little ratchet adjust. Seems weak. The boots also seem to be a little on the soft side at a flex rating of 80. I've been riding a boot with a flex of 65 and it was annoying to ride, just doesn't transfer the power my chicken legs can put out (I know flex ratings arent universal but this is salomon to salomon) what do they hold up like too (if you know from personal experience) Being a side country all terrain boot, they just dont seem like the best option. If you have any experience with these please give me your pros and cons. Im riding a pair of salomon twenty twelves with some z-10 bindings.

i dont think that any boot with a walk setting will not ski well. personal oppinion
