I  got a t2i the other da and decided to put together a little edit together just to see how i could do.

Thanks I edited it and then a bunch of stuff didn't save right and I had the clips too slow so they were choppy and so I ended up re editing a bunch of it and speeding up the clips so I cut the song down and I guess the program still thought the song was still there or something.

Anyways that was overexposed. Try doing some color correction, pretty good thing to learn.

as i've said before, i think reusing songs if the edit is an entirely different sport is ok, but a lot of people on here think otherwise.

The one thing about reusing songs it that it automatically makes the viewer start to make comparisons about the 2 videos. Or at least for me.

I think reusing songs is typically ok, just not when they've been used in ski movies or high-end edits (i.e. the Sandy Boville edit)

Things that make me cringe:

Shitty pull focuses, should have ditched those entirely.

Reusing a song that has been in a very seen ski edit, not gonna pull that one off, especially after Zac totally stomped that song.

The opacity/double angles got really annoying really fast.

Try and set your White balance right, and get more depth. I suggest making it a little darker, Drop the ISO, or pick up the shutter, and make sure its exposed correctly. Try writing down that settings you use for each clip and look and review them afterwards. Practice makes perfect. But otherwise, its a decent edit. You'll get better eventually.

Ok Thanks, In this video I had the shutter speed double the frames per second. If I were to keep the fps at 60 and bump up the shutter speed even more would I be able to slow the footage down even more than it is now without it getting choppy?

Shutter speed is how fast every frame is shot. So the lowest shutter speed you can shoot at with 60 fps is 1/60 because theres 60 frames in a second and each frame is shot at 1/60th of a second. but if you shot at 1/60 the shot would have motion blur. If you bumped up the shutter the video would just get a little darker and crisper.

I mean its chill, but why? Their are plenty of good songs out there im sure you dont need to re-use a song that has been already used in a video with 25k hits.

to be honest i actually forgot you used Wings until i watched the sandy edit a couple weeks ago, so it's a pretty easy mistake to make

i had watched that edit you made with the same song like once and it was the first min of it and in my mind i didn't connect the dots, but oh well.

no. if anything, it may appear slightly more choppy since there will be less motion blur. around 120 will give you a pretty pleasing amount of motion blur to make movement look more natural. however, a shutter speed higher than 120 will give you crisper slow motion.

what are you editing with?

ah ok. there may be some way for you to conform your 720p60p clips to 720p24p using premiere or AE to give you perfect slow motion at 40% of real time. but somebody else would be able to help you with that more than me, i know nothing about adobe programs.
