Assuming you are an alright person, nah he shouldn't be. Of course, you are going to have to show some respect hanging around him, you cant really launch into stories of fucking his sister like you would any other girlfriend. Also, he should really be told sooner rather than later. Its doing no good to let more time pass, all that will do is make him trust you guys less. You both (sister and you) need to tell him in a nice way. Don't expect him to do cartwheels about it, but he should be fine, especially if you treat her well.

i have an older sister, and let me just say it would be weird. not necessarily something that would piss me off, but definitely something i would prefer not to happen. guaranteed to be uber amounts of awkwardness both during and after.

So I had this happen once.

My sister met my best friend (at the time) on my birthday. They ended up getting really drunk and hooking up on my living room floor.

I was annoyed.

My sister said he gave her butterflies.

My friend said don't worry about it.

I told my friend that the scenario didn't make me happy and that I didn't want to hear about it. So my friend and I are both in Minnesota/Wisconsin at the same time. He lived in Somerset, WII I lived in Stillwater, MN. Anyway I'm over at his house and I ask who is picking him up now (I was supposed to, but I ended up going to MN). He says that my sister is. Not a moment sooner he gets a text from my sister. I will not state the contents of the text, only that it was something you'd expect from a pornstar... not your sister. He laughs and says hes sorry and that hes just enjoying the sex and that she is a bit too strung out for him to really be interested.

I get home and I'm talking to my mom and my mom is going on and on about how my sister thinks that my best friend is the one and blah blah blah. So I tell my mom that I don't think she should get her hopes up and that he is a bit of a man whore.

I let it die.

A few weeks later Im on the phone with my mom... We are arguing about something stupid and shes all."well from what I hear, you aren't exactly an angel or anything." I ask what she is talking about and apparently my former best friend let my sister know all my exploits in which my sister was angry when my mom told her to not get her hopes up so my sister told my mom everything that my friend had told her.

The aftermath.

My mom thinks I'm a whore. My sister and I took about 3 years to repair our relationship and my former bestfriend stayed friends for a few more months until he yelled at me for not wanting to go out on the night that my grandfather died.

SOOOOOO..... I'd say its a horrible idea.

Yeah, I am gonna have to disagree overall. Im sorry for your situation, but I don't think it applies to the OP.

Relationships can get messy if they sour, but that should not preclude anyone from dating that close in the circle, assuming they are mature adults. Sounds more like some people made some poor choices in your situation.

Remember, there is always horror stories stemming from random people dating your siblings also...

Personal stories are just that. I don't give a shit about that situation. It happened years ago. My sister has a problem with hitting on my friends though and it tests our relationship more than I'd like. Mostly because I have to deal with the aftermath. For instance she got really really drunk with one of my friends and he brought her home in which she through up all over his room. I had the pleasure of finding out from a friend of that friend.

But maybe my sister is just crazy.

I guess I feel worse off for OP's friend than I do for him. Cause I've been OP's friend more than I'd like.

Why do I care? I hate playing clean up crew.

well since your way older i think its alright, but yeah show some respect. my really good friend hooked up with my sister and treated her like shit... either way nearly beat the shit out of him but made him cry and i felt too bad to beat him up after that so i just told him he was on last chance and next time i would. now everythings fine and hes one of my better friends but you should tell them sooner rather than later

dude its just weird. sooner or later she's gonna tell you something about her brother that you didn't know and makes you look at him differently, or hes gonna tell you something about his sister that makes you look at her differently. either way theres gonna be some really serious awkwardness and its best to avoid that.

tell him sooner rather than later, but your taking a serious risk of irreparably damaging a friendship so i'd just cut it off

ive had this happen once...cept it was my roomates sister.

keep it secret until you both know its serious. If it is serious, and youre a good guy then he should be stoked his sister found a good partner.

This is all dependent on her and you being mature enough to realize that the friend stays the fuck out of it, and under no circumstances should he be brought in as a bargaining chip or used as a threat.
