It sounds like a cool field to get into. I just think it would be hard to find a job after, but I have no experience. Someone on here who did the course can probably tell you how easy/hard it was to get a job after school.

if you wanna learn about how resorts only care about people coming on vacation and buying condos and not about the regular skiers or even skiing itself, get into it.

I almost went to school for that, but decided that it seemed like a field that didn't have that much room for advancement and jobs would be a little tight. I decided to go to school for environmental policy instead and now I hope i can get a job on the environmental side of the ski industry.

I did it. It consists of 2.5 semesters at Gogebic, a 1.5 semester internship pretty much where ever you want and you get an Associates of Applied Technology. Then you transfer to Northern Michigan University for two years and finish with a Bachelors of Science in SAM.

It is a lot of fun, and you really get to understand how much goes on behind the scenes to run a ski area. And if you elect to do the four year program, you still finish with a business degree; so you don't have to worry about pigeon holing yourself.

I did my internship at Keystone, am graduating in December, and already have been contacted with two job offers, tho I'll most likely go back to Keystone

definatly do something you love to do, and would enjoy doing, then find a way to make money doing it, unfortunatly this world is all about who you know, so make a good empression with everyone you meet in the industry....network
