I've currently got a 6'4" thruster, it's kinda like and 80s shape I think. WIde point near the middle, slight rocker, lots of volume. Catches summer waves quite nicely and it's fast, but lately the more I surf it the more I realize it's not my style. Not sure if it's the volume or shape, but it pushes me around too much. I'm 5'5 120lbs so that might be why. Just not really a power surfer... So rather then change my style, I'll change my board.
So I'm looking a retro fishes and I've got a few questions...
Does the wide point being near the front allow you to work your front foot to control the board. I'm very front footed, too much skateboarding and I tore my acl and meniscus in my back leg... It's just how I ride now.
And how does it ride, if you ride one? I've seen a few people riding fishes around for summer and they look fast and fun. I hear they catch waves quite nicely and make a fun time out of summer jersey mush.
Probably gonna go with a 6' ish board, twin or quad. Never have surfed either so trying something new is fun. I hardly know anybody else that surfs, and none of them ride fishes so I'll ask here.
