Question for NS Gamers

That have aftermarket headsets for their Xbox or even PS3. I am looking at these two:

Get steelseries ones for xbox. I am in a competitive team witha few other kidds and these kick ass. Also If you want to get turtle beaches, DONT. Eventually they will blow out and whenever there is a loud sound they begin to crackle. Especially with the PX21's. I recommend anything else.

I have owned both headsets.

Fit: Trittons squeeze my head to where it gets uncomfortable after 20 mins, where as the Turtle Beaches never get uncomfortable.

Mic: Turtle Beaches win by far. The Tritton mic isn't BAD, but it's not very sensitive so you have to speak kinda loud.

Ease of use: Again, the Beaches are wayyy easier to use. Pretty much plug&play.

Customization: Trittons win this one. They are harder to set up, but the mixer on them has way more options: Bass, Mid, and Treble, as well as individual volume for each channel. Tritton also has a lag feature in case you are getting some sound lag.


Sound: Turle Beaches. Trittons can sound good, but getting them fine tuned is hard. And you have to adjust the sound for every separate game you play or else it won't sound good.


What I would choose: TURTLE BEACHES

I have had my X31s for almost a year and a half and have NEVER had any problems with them.

From a simply ease of use standpoint I'll probably end up with some Turtle Beach's. I just wonder if the wireless on a pair I looked at is any good.

Turtle beaches are the skullcandys of gaming headsets.

They're sick at first and seem fine, but after you try something like bose=astros/tritons then you see how much they suck

This. I have these. I also had the turtle beaches and was upset with how shitty they compared to Tritton. The chord from mic to controller has broken on me twice now.

Go with Tritton. Mind you, it does require somewhat newer technology for use on a tv, so if you have an older tv, it most likely won't have the plug in used for sound distribution. Not just the red and white chords anymore.

Yeah Trittons use optical cables.



Where as Turtle Beaches use A/V cables. Also, Turtle Beaches have a LOT less wires to get tangled up, where as Trittons have tooooooonssssssss of wires.

Ive had the Turtle Beach PX21's.

I competitively play Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2.

Not sound nerdy but I do know what I'm talking about.

Look at this fucking headset and buy it god dammit. Turtle beaches are sick but they will eventually blow out.

Is this directed at me? If so I have had my PS3 for almost 6 years now and my 360 for just one.

I really ultimately want the headphones cause I play at night and don't want the sound coming out of my TV disturbing the rents and such.

Pretty sure you do. The computer I had that could run Modern Warfare 1 with no problem could not run Civilization V.

I think one of the biggest reasons is because Valve lets you do anything you want to the game. Get bored of playing classic CS? Play the zombie mod. Tired of that? Play some surf, or the WC3 mod, or puzzle mod!

I can only CoD for so long before get bored.

Fact is, I would rather have two systems that I don't need to update the hardware in and all I need to buy is the game.

Zombies and surf were so fun haha. The bunnyhop mod was also pretty cool. There was also this mod called death run where you had to avoid a bunch of traps and make it to the end, you should check it out.
