Do LGB really want to include T?

quite wrong i define an idiot as someone whose intolerance for a certain group make them believe that due to psychological/ emotional reasons that said group is not "normal".

nobody is normal because all specimens of our species vary to such a staggering degree that a base line is next to useless

I misunderstood when you and emilyiscool were saying they get off with nothing, because I thought that literally meant nothing, as in acquitted. You call second degree murder a "slap on the wrist"? They got punished. That is one case that I think all transgender people should very much look at pay attention to. If they start a relationship with someone, they should either tell them they are the opposite of what they look straight off the bat or make damn sure they never find out. Is killing someone a bit drastic after finding that out? Yeah. But fuck, I would definitely flip shit if I found out I was fucking a girl who used to be a man, and I'm sure I'm not in the minority. Oh, and about hormone therapy not being covered in countries with public healthcare, I don't think taxpayers should help pay for sex changes. Like I said, I'm not against transgenders, I just think it's ridiculous that EVERYONE should have to bend over to accommodate such a small and hard to accommodate demographic.

when your saying that taxpayers should not pay for sex changes i think your wrong. Your not looking at this the right way. This is something you are born with treatable with medication and surgeries. you wouldn't deprive someone with diabetes of insulin? why should people bend over to accommodate that? its a small and hard to accomodate demographic. So are many deseases already covered by most countries whos taxes pay for healthcare.

You're not looking at it the right way, everyone should just take care of their own. Born with some crazy disease like a penis? Maybe you can find a private group of people to help pay for your surgery. Don't use the governments strong arm to steal. If we can't draw a line between diabetes(fuck fat people too though) and gender reassignment then we can't draw it anywhere.

if i ask somebody out on a date, it is because I, as a straight male, am making the reasonable and expected assumption that the person i'm asking out is a straight female. if by some insane way i am duped into believing that said straight female is in fact a male, or at one time was a male, and i end up being physical in any capacity with that person, I would be pretty fucking angry with that person for a clear lack of honesty.

I don't think that's unfair either.

I imagine most people would like to know if they're going on a date with someone who has a/used to have a penis. Personally i probably couldn't give a shit because i'm pretty open when it comes to my sexuality, but i think its fair enough that you'd tell people... a lot of people would probably care.

Then again, if you're definitely not going to have any form of sexual contact on the first date i don't think it really matters. But yeah, by the 2nd date i think people would probably want a heads up.

i was thinking this when she posted that haha. surgery/hormones are in no way a necessary thing and im not sure why people think that insurance should pay for it... i understand the diabetes/insulin comparison but one is a medical condition and one is a choice. its like saying that insurance should cover your plastic surgery because you dont like the way your face looks

Some people are born with the mental/emotional make up of a female but are born with male parts. So, to feel "normal" (whatever the fuck that means) their only option IS surgery in order to fit in with what they feel would be normal for them.

As a straight male, I have the right to be disgusted a bit by those who have changed sex. I also have the right to be upset when a gay man repeatedly hits on me. I also have an issue when lesbians lead you on just to get free drinks (not that I pay for drinks in the first place).

I have the right feel this way, just as those who have chosen to switch genders have the right to do so. But if you do, recognize the societal pressure that will fall on you as soon as you walk out that operating roo, and try not to complain about it. We can't see it from your perspective.

wyatt, I dunno wtf is up with your neurochemistry and I won't even try to go into it. but I think for most people who have gender identity confusions there are less radical ways of helping yourself than flippin the script on nature. I understand you have made your decision though.

i guess it is hypocritical of me to judge trannies harsher than the average gay dude but i definitely have a problem with the notion of humans playing god (figuratively speaking), and using modern medicine in order to somewhat triumph over nature and completely change who they are and how they look. gay people are born gay, maybe they identify more with females and that is fine, they act accordingly. but going so far as to actually alter your own body and mind with hormones and surgery is far different. plus the technology that goes into sex change surgeries is far from perfect. i think that a proliferation of sex change operations inculcates the attitude in younger generations that if they don't like their own body, they can simply just spend the money to change it. your body is yours, created beautifully by nature, own up to it and be proud of it whatever your sexual orientation.

yea, people with cleft lips "created beautifully by nature" should just learn to like it, and don't you dare exercise for the way you look, or comb your hair. Nature gave you fingernails that grow why would you clip them. What about people with bad eyes? no surgery to make them better? would you suggest femtrannies just use the equivalent of glasses? maybe something they strap on that provides a fix? Or should people born with poor vision just be proud of it.

i really do agree with most of what you said.


BUT just consider this....If you were in the shoes of somebody who truly felt they were born the wrong gender and your whole life you couldn't help but reject who you were physically, you wouldn't want somebody to tell you to just own up to it and be proud of who you were if you hated who you were.


it's super difficult for us to imagine, us as in us straight guys, because it is such a foreign concept to think about.
