Hey guys, I am looking to buy a pow ski but a more light playful pow ski that i can throw down with in the Backcountry. There's really no hurry because I have a torn ACL right now and am two weeks out of surgery but any info on good skis for this preferably 2010-2011 season but anything is certainly welcome. Thanks!
I know ya said 10-11' but the new opus is amazing....the bent chetlers are good too....either of those are exactly what your describing but if your deadset on 11's I'd say hands down bacons...the only ski I've been on that's better is the opus....hope that helps...and good luck on the knee...I blew mine out at killington alot of years ago and now I can't even tell I've ever injured it....don't let it hold ya back brotha!
Ive got the line blend and they sound exactly like what your lookin for with the playful pow ski. 100ml waist, early rise tip and tail, regular camber under foot and 10/11 graphics look sweet. I fucking love my blends and they have been great all round. Floaty enough in pow, playful enough to throw tricks in the pow, solid enough not to get too much chatter on hard pack and not too fat that you cant go hit the park on them
look at icelantic gypsy or salomon rocker2. both super playful jibby pow sticks. if you want something frm an earlier season, i reccomend hellbents or ep pro's.
I am 5'7" 130 pounds. i would say im an advanced skiier. i am looking for when I get back to probably start skiing a little more pow. thanks for all the opinions so far.
Awful ski. Salk on just tried to make an ep pro basically. It's shit, feels like the tips are going to break off and the flex pattern sucks. Do not buy the rocker 2.
Thanks for the help! I was also wondering, speaking of 181. What size do you think would be good for me? Do you think the low 180s would be to big or should i stick with the high 170s.
im 5'7, 150 riding 191 Caylors. rockered skis ski really short when you need them to, especially when they're mounted close to center. i'd say go for some 186 Jeffreys.
Damn dude, I'm 5'10 on a good day and ride 181's around occasionally. I do agree on the smaller feel from a center mount though, hence why I want the Pillowfights to come in a true 201...
Nice spelling its salomon by the way and most people who have skied it will agree its amazing so dont try to pull the salomon sucks routine we see so much on this site
