What's all this talk about "we" doing anything? Mods pick the mods. And ElGato has done a damn good job since he got the call not too long ago, as has TWA, they're killing it. We're actually going to add a couple more mods pretty soon, too.
People moan and complain about how NSG and SG are a mess, especially in the summer. People then moan and complain when their thread is deleted. People say things like "no thread may be deleted unless it breaks the rules" as if there's some hard and fast federal law in place as to how internet websites have to be run. Really, we have people who we trust to make judgment calls, and on the whole those judgment calls are good. I know this because rarely do I disagree with anything any of the other mods do.
What it comes down to is you need to check your ego and attitude and look if you feel like making a thread like this because when you complain about this crap, you sound like self-entitled, spoiled children.
Well that's not what it sounds like to me. To me it looks like you had a hissy fit, pretended to quit newschoolers, realized no one really cares about that kind of dramatic "I'M LEAVING FOREVER" crap, and came back to complain some more, all over a deleted post on a web forum.
I'm not defending him, exactly, nor do I agree with you that he was wrong to delete that thread. But I can see the deleted threads and who deleted them and the banned members and I can say with some authority that Elgato has made a good impact on the site since he became green. So I'm finding it hard to be much fussed if he got into an argument with you and deleted your post, and to be honest I really think it'd be a lot healthier for you if you just calmed down instead of throwing what again appears to me to be a temper tantrum over a couple of words you typed on a website. Again, like you said, this is just my opinion.
