If you do, edges will eventually get damaged. That is just what happens when you take a thin strip of metal and slam it against other metal objects all day.
I just bought a pair of skis with edge damage..(thread jack) and i was wondering if there was any way to protect the skis from getting water in them. +k for good answers
you should take a fine metal file and go over your edges underfoot only with it just a bit so that it rounds them a bit. this will decrease your edge hold, but that would happen anyways after a bit.
but never file your edges that are more then about 6 inches to either side of the center of the ski because you will have no edge hold, and its not nessesary for your edges to be dull up there
