im now gonna imply you are retarded. Darwinism is a set of movements and concepts related to ideas of transmutation of species or of evolution, including some ideas with no connection to the work of Charles Darwin.

now im gonna imply you are retarded.  As you said, darwinism is a set of movements related to ideas of transmutation of a species.  A baby born deaf is not the species.  The species would be humans, who have evolved to understand the sense of hearing, and have adapted to create technology to fix it. 

Darwinism has little to do with the individual, and more to do with the species, as you said.  it relates to total populations, not units of said populations. 

Human technology, in this case, is not thwarting darwinism.  Human technology is the representation of Darwinism, showing how the strongest species (humans) have adapted to survive, even if they are born deaf or with some other handicap.

Survival of the fittest is not just based on physical traits. It's the sum of many factors and clearly that baby was lucky enough to have been from a successful enough background that a cochlear implant was an option for it. You are one cold guy. I thought it was incredible.
