The EPP is going to float better in pow due to its greater width. With that in mind Eric designed the new Opus to be thinner at the waist because he wasn't sinking in enough upon landing cliffs/booters, which caused backslap and unclean landings. If Eric can ski bottomless pow with Nimbus and his new Opus I'm sure it'd be no problem for you.

Yeah plus as I've stated before...lol...I've had these all summer and rode on some super crud a few times before it got too hot and melted everything....and they absolutely destroy the hard stuff....yes there are skis that will do it better but for a pro model freestyle/pow ski they are unparalleled....at first I thought maybe it was just me because I've been trending toward a fat everyday ski and really wanted them to work....but then I caught up with an old buddy who has had them since march and he said the same thing...next season they will be his everyday ski....I also do not see the big concerns over float....OP your not the only one to ask this.....they are made to float....remember that only a few years ago a 90 underfoot with no rocker was considered a pow ski....this thing will float perfect unless your 300lbs....trust me...all you have to do is look at them in person to see that there is still a good amount of rise in the tips and they're plenty wide to get the job done....don't be turned off by the new early rise explanations given at SIA....they need to showcase the new tech to sound fresh....I'm beginning to think that the whole tug boat/speed boat analogy has done more bad than good....seems to have somehow convinced people that the opus won't float which is not the case...it's actually better.

The EPP was a lot softer than the Opus, i've heard the Opus is amazing though! Having a ski thats a little stiffer in the tail can be really handy for not washing out of everything. The Opus is thinner and basically more practical than the EPP.
