i got told by a cop that i look ridiculous to all of the cops bc tall tees started in prison and they would just give big sizes to inmates instead of getting all sizes

Haha when I used to wear Level 1 tall tee's to school everyone said I was just two midgets standing on top of each other. So basically that haha.

The style of sagging pants does in fact originate from ill-fitting prison garments.

As far as the origin of tall tees--besides the rather obvious guess that it's got something to do with people who wear their pants around their knees--I prefer the hand-me-down story:

When you're a kid, you wear hand-me-downs from older siblings, especially if you live in the hood and mom can't afford to buy you stuff that fits. So you might have to wear a shirt that's a few sizes too big. And if you're wearing a shirt that comes down to your ankles, nobody gonna fuck with you because a really big shirt equals a really big older brother.

Another reason why they choose to wear tall tees and baggy pants it because it makes it a hell of a lot easy to steal and conceal shit with a tall tee on
