The top thread (The one on the needle) gets caught by the loop and then gets spun in a circle to twist with the bottom thread so it doesn't come undone.
i've had to ask my mom about 10 times throughout my lifetime wondering how a sewing machine works. sad that it took a thread on NS to finally get my answer.......
Of course they don't, ya can't use a sewing machine on a beaver pelt anyway so why would they.
I was in high school in the 90s and we used sewing machines in home ec. and everyone had to take home ec.
I don't know I guess I'm just shocked at how many people think this is amazing in some way. It's a pretty simple mechanical machine, I mean it's not a car engine or something. Lots of kids acting like its rocket science or something.
