I'll keep watching, but I agree about this season being disappointing. They need to seriously get the fuck off that farm.

I was actually sad to see Rick execute those to other characters that showed up in the bar so quickly. Another group would revive some of the missing excitement in the show.

It definitely is a getting a little stagnant, but this happened from time to time in the comic itself (Kirkman writes the comic AND writes for the show).

I keep thinking that there building up for something big, but it never happens, saw more zombies killed in a single episode last season then we have all of this season so far.

If you're watching the series to see zombies being killed you're doing it wrong. It's all about the human aspect; how people would behave in unimaginable situations.

i thing people are being too harsh on this season in general. It's a drama that features zombies, but that doesn't mean that zombies are the focal point. It's about shifting human dynamics and the decay of civilization in a post-apocalyptic world. if you're only watching to see zombie slaughters go watch dawn of the dead.

I agree with you that it's not all about slaying zombies and all, but this season has not come even close to the same excitment and suspence level of last season(which was the reason why so many people are following this series), I get that there trying to illuminate what life would be like in an apocalypse, but at the same time its not a documentry, its a horror/thriller, which is lacking the horror/thriller factor due to not having nearly enough zombie action, which is why it's called The Walking Dead, not the how to stake out a farm for 5 boring episodes while occasionally a zombie gets slaughtered.

Just got a chance to watch last night's episode. Definitely think they are heading back in the right direction in terms of action, while still keeping the drama between the characters. I think it's about time for Dale to get killed off though. He's such a little bitch. Yeah, we all know Shane is losing it, but Dale, SHUT THE FUCK UP. I also think Rick has had enough of being the good guy and is ready to lay down the law regarding Lori and the baby, and everything else. The fight between him and Shane should be pretty epic next week. Does anyone else feel like they are phasing out Daryl's character though? Like maybe they are getting ready for him to move out on his own or get killed?

There was no Smart-O-Meter last week, so I've decided to take matters into my own hands.

Rick: 7/10 "THINGS ARE HARD OUT HERE!"
Lori: 2/10 Stupid zombie should've eaten less car window and more Lori.
Shane: 6/10 "It was real, Lori. You felt emotions."
Hershel: 8/10 He's too drunk for this shit.
Glenn: 7/10 Needs to sleep with Maggie more so he can boost his confidence.
Daryl: 5/10 He ain't no errand boy.
Andrea: 4/10 She's beginning to think because of Shane…soon she shall shoot (innocent people) because of Shane.
Dale: 5/10 He can see every plot point except the one's involving Lori's stupidity.
Carl: 6.5/10 Having him say "You're having a baby?!" with an oversized cowboy hat is comic genius.
Maggie: 8/10 Her monologue was kinda pointless, but she gets points for a sweet cleavage shot.
Carol: 6/10 I actually felt bad for her cause Daryl was such a raging dick.
T-Dog: 3/10 I can't believe a character named "T-Dog" still isn't dead nine episodes into the season.
Hershel's Daughter: is still comatose.

Grantland always does quality recaps/analysis for those interested. Also, for those who don't know, the show faced some major budget issues and total upheaval at the tippity top that surely didn't help the show, at least in the short run. I have some optimism that the show is actually going to improve, and I for one plan to keep watching because I want to support this kind of television—5 years ago a show like this would've never gotten off the ground, especially not in primetime on a strong cable network.

Yeah I remember saying earlier in the thread that they had lost some budget and creating the zombies is costly. I'm with ya on sticking with it. Regardless of lack of action, its really good.

Oh, missed that post. But yeah, I'm not trying to make "excuses" for the show necessarily, but it is something to consider and I'm glad I'm not alone in willing to be patient. I definitely have enjoyed the 2 most recent episodes, and I think it bodes well for the show's future. The show isn't perfect, and I—and many others—have struggled to really connect with some of the main characters, but it's shown flashes of brilliance.

The ep where Darryl is alone and hallucinates was absolutely unreal. The most recent episode was actually really tense/scary and I think that if the show sticks with the goal to make watching the show week to week actually scary, good things are sure to come.
