The episode was ok. I really hope when it comes back in Feb (?) that they leave the farm, cause nothing is going to happen there, that's a dead end story. I had a feeling Sophia was going to be in the barn once it neared that part. Sucks the only suspenseful part of the episode was the last 5 minutes.

My brother told me he read that they lost a lot of funding, and that's why the zombies are less creative and active in the show. If that's the case I hope that changes, its a good show but they really gotta up the action.

Seems kind of unlikely, I mean, it's one of the most viewed shows on TV right now, and for a good reason. I agree that they need to leave the farm, and it looks like they're going to. I don't think Herschel's gonna let them stay after that.

this. i pray to god for hershel that he didn't know it was sophia. cuz if he did let them just fuck around looking for a girl he knew was already fucked and in the barn id be soooo pissed!

in which case they should just get he fuck outta there, which they'll probs do, but from what they showed of the rest of the season looks like they'll be at the farm at least a few more episodes.

on another note, you guys think that if they leave maggie is gonna go with em, or stay at the farm??

I thought the show coulda been a lot crazier and it definitely needs some more action.  The thing with the girl in the barn was alright but it coulda been better.  Pretty crazy that the old guy had her in the barn the whole time and no one noticed lol.  The old guy is so fucking stupid, if he wants these people to go he shoulda just told them she's in the barn and then be like get the fuck off my farm (cause that's the only reason they were allowed to stay) It doesn't really make sense unless he didn't know it was her, then he's a dumbass.

The asian dudes girl is definitely gunna stick with the crew and leave the farm.

Also  they need to leave the farm, adventure stories are so much more fun.  This show could be so much more crazy and suspenseful but instead they're reading and making scrambled eggs at this nice farm.

Dude, you dont have to worry about the comics spoiling anything. I have read like the first nine of them and shane is dead before they ever even get to the farm. And they have not gone to the CDC yet either, but shane is already dead

they were also allowed to stay to let the little boy who got shot recover. Herschel brings that up every once in a while and says how hes pretty much all good now so its time for them to leave.

truth. the comics are NOTHING like the show so dont worry about comic readers spoiling it too much. in the comic, as said before, shane dies super early and Darryl and Merle aren't in the story at all. they are only characters in the TV show.

obviously we still shouldnt mention the comic though because im sure the writers will tie more comic plot into the show so some things from the comic will still happen. i dont think shane's gonna die though, hes too important in the show now.

Not in terms of the show...but more survival,

if i was in the show, I would kill off the barn family as terrible as it sounds and live there. Unless they can live there together peacefuly. The barn is clearly a safe haven and survival of the fittest should dictate who lives.

if you watched Talking Dead after the episode, the 2 guests they had on it kinda really gave away the part about whether or not Hershel knew the girl was in there. so spoiler alert...

Hershel mentioned earlier in the episode that Otis was the person who normally rounded up the walkers and brought them to the barn. When the group met Otis they were so pre-occupied with helping Rick's kid (I cant remember his name) get better that no one explained to Otis what they were doing out in the forest. And then of course he went off with Shane, and Shane shot Otis and left him for dead, again before anything was ever explained.

Decent season so far, but they need to do more shit like this last episode. So much more suspense and shit getting real in a hurry. It doesn't help that this season has basically all taken place over the course of maybe two weeks at the farm.

it definitely makes sense that hershel would have an idea that sophia was with the group. he wasn't collecting random walkers-he knew each and every one of them by name and that's why he kept them there (since he still oddly cared about them). i don't think however that the main reason he didnt want the group going into the barn was so they wouldnt see sophia, but that may have played a part in that decision

what i heard was that the funding was lowered so that amc could drop more on season 5 of breaking bad, cause it's the final season, which they're currently working on. hopefully when walking dead starts back up it's better than the season so far. about time shane stepped up and quit pussyfooting around.

yeah he did, he knew the female zombies name was louise, and he didnt know the male zombie but recognized his coveralls from the place where he used to work. so he sorta knew them but they were not really friends or family.

Holy Shit that was a crazy episode. not crazy like some of the episodes of season one, where it was crazy survival. but this was crazy like story development. everything from this season is changed. i'll be very interested to see where it picks up

There were close to 20 zombies in the barn, I think it's plausible that Herschel had no clue she was in there, or any little girl for that matter. I can't recall a single scene outside of Maggie throwing them chickens where any of the farm owners/residents interacted with the barn.

Am I annoyed that the central plot element for 7 fucking episodes was looking for a little girl whom I always presumed to be dead? Absolutely. Do I love how Rick's willingness to shoot Sophia sort of negated the momentum that Shane had built in persuading the others to follow him? Yup.

Admittedly I've said it before, but I think things hit their stride from here.

Two issues I have with The Walking Dead so far- Terrible resolution of major plot lines and simply not bothering to resolve minor ones.

Two huge plot lines were resolved poorly if you ask me. The CDC was brought in as an excellent device, but pretty much removed just as quickly. Also the fact that he basically said no one the world over knew how to cure it at all pretty much stops the hope of finding a cure. Secondly, the Sophia plot line, dragged out over 7 episodes and brought to an unsurprising conclusion. Not impressed really at all. Waste of our time.

But even worse is the minor plot lines. I don't have a huge issue, I understand that plots are supposed to weave in and out with one another, but these aren't weaving. They've just been starting new plot lines every episode and then abandoning them. i.e.
- Morgan and his boy
- Merle is still somewhere out there
- The latin gang members
- Who took the fucking truck?

Most of those are from the 1st season, early on, and still haven't even been used at all. That's just a sign of bad writing- I've given up hope of even finding out half of those questions.
