Liberty LTE or Rossignol s4 jibs

whaddup people, im deciding to get new skis for next season and i have my heart truly set on the rossignol s4 jibs but ive been doing research on the liberty lte and people say thats good as well. i want a nice light ski thats easy for jumps but also one that is playful and can tear up rails. which is the better option? thanks!

liberty lte definitely, the lte is buttery in the tips and tails and yet remains stability on jumps for being stiff underfoot. the lte can take the abuse from rails. the bamboo makes the ski super light, responsive, and poppy. the s4s are stiffer than the ltes, but are also really light and have tremendous amounts of pop. Some peopl have had problems with the s4s due to them being super thin in the tails that they have actually had major cracks in the core, but it was only a couple im not saying that all are like this and you should avoid. I love the ltes definitely worth the money spent  and then some.

Hey, not to be " Stealing " this tread or something, but i´m wondering if I should buy the Armada Halo or LIberty LTE´s.
I ski pretty much the same as the guy above (who made this tread ^^) and I like light, soft responsive skis for jumps as much as rails.

- Which one has the best durability?

- Which is the lightest?

- Which one is the softer?

- Which one is best and why?

- And which one will hold up in high speed/charging the best?

S4's no question just an all around perfect ski indestructibly stiff but not 2 x 4's  the best ski (IMO) on jumps and really good on rails lots of pop super low swing weight and a lower price 299 skis.com Vs 500 for the ltes

1. both have great durability
2. halos are the lightest due to cap even though the ltes aren't far off
3. lte is softer
4. both are great i have personally ridden the ltes i have not ridden the halos i have only flexed and have read many many reviews. the ltes have that traditional camber feel, super poppy responsive. the swing weight of them are great the bamboo cores are greatest thing since sliced bread. the soft tips and tails make the ski super playful, yet underfoot they are stiff to still handle the medium to large jumps. the rocker on the halos seem pretty good since they reduce catch on rails and jumps. good for slush days.
5. the ltes are quite stable at high speeds held edge quite well due to traditional camber construction. they didnt chatter. i have heard that the halos are also stable but have a slight chatter, the rocker makes them ski shorter and have little less edge hold so they wont really have good hold in icy conditions

Both are considered to be on the more durable side

Both are very light, probably about the same weight

- Which one is the softer?
LTE, no question on that one

- Which one is best and why?
Personal preference, LTE if you like a soft ski that can still hold up on jumps, S4s if you wanna go fast, pop hard and like a stiffer ski

- And which one will hold up in high speed/charging the best?
S4

Hopefully that helps out both of you. It's a tough call between the two. If I had to pick (and I've ridden both the S4 and the Phil Larose (which is similar to the LTE)) I'd probably go with the S4 for their responsive snap and the stability they have, not to say the LTE isn't great, I just personally like the S4 a bit better.

Sorry for the slight thread jack, but better than cluttering... Flashkick et al, how do you find the camber setup on the S4's? I'm really considering them as a stiffer park ski but just wanted to get some thoughts on the camber (i'm yet to see a decent photo and no shops around here have them..).  I'm currently using an MSP which I de-cambered to flat so i guess I'm looking for something similar.. relatively stiff, minimal camber (maybe slight tip tail rocker), close to symmetrical (but not quite) and pretty narrow (sub 90 underfoot and preferably sub 120 shovel).  Do you think S4's fit the bill? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The S4s have a ton of camber. I think something like the armada alpha/halo would be more of what you're looking for (alpha being a bit stiffer). If you want something without rocker, either the pipe cleaner, or even something like moment Reno jibs fit well.

I love my LTEs so light and durable. I've never ridden the s4 tho so i can't compare the two.

Haha, I don´t really know which one to choose between the Halo and LTE.
One more question to people who have ridden the LTE or Halo though.
How thin are the Halo and LTE on the middle (under the binding)?

Iv´e found out that I like pretty skinny skis.
Then I can to rails easier. I ride the Abang and I cant really
do much on rails on them, like switchups and pretzels.

And btw, Thanks for ur answers, you guys are awesome at helping =)

hey i was wondering if i do get the liberty lte, is the 178 a good size? i rode the line afterbangs 166 before, im also 130 pounds and around 5'7 5'8. i would go with the 171 but they are all sold out.

the 178 will be fine even though it is longer than you are used to it is still playful enough to butter around. the stability on jumps would be amazing.

That's because they are made in china so they can pay next to nothing to make them they can afford to replace them all the time and make an inferior product. Stick with rossi, not made in china and you won't have to warranty them because they are not POS china ski's, enough said.
