Just curious if anyone knows any good websites to learn guitar and has personal experience/success learning using the web.

honestly you should take a lesson but if thats out of the question by a book and learn the chords. Then go to ultimate-guitar.com its like the best tab website. Other than that you could probably just use youtube to learn it. Idk honestly it'll be much to your benefit to have an actual person there to help you you'll progress like 100x faster than using the internet.

Get guitar pro. It's a software that plays tabs. You download them and play the in it, and it shows you the pace to play at, ect. So that the tabs make more sense. It helped me when I was learning

learns some chords, look up "insert song name" chords, then play. Also learn to play tabs (simple), look up "insert song name" tabs, then play.

DONT FUCK AROUND. TAKE LESSONS OR YOU'LL LEARN SHITTY HABITS AND THEREFOR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY WELL. BUT IF YOU WANT TO LEARN GUITAR SO THAT YOU CAN PLAY WONDERWALL FOR GIRLS AND PLAY A LOT OF OPEN CHORDS THEN IT DOESNT REALLY MATTER CAUSE THATS NOT HARD ANYWAYS

Stop yelling.

I learned guitar by taking lessons.  If you don't want to take lessons, you could try watching lesson videos on youtube.  I don't know how that will work however.  I also use ultimate-guitar.com whenever I want to learn a new song.
