Mac OS X Lion

So SoldierKnowsBest uploaded a video yesterday saying OS X Lion was going to be releases on iTunes today for $30.  I just checkup it and here it is:

I don't have a Mac so this isn't of much concern to me, but I like to know what's going on so if anybody has it downloaded and installed yet let me know what's up.

i have a macbook pro and wtf are they saying about the new multi touch? nothing about it is new, my 2009 mbp has the same exact multitouch as lion. i already have the appstore, i dont use the email app. Full screen apps..k? Lauch pad is kinda cool, so is the auto save and the open applications thing. I probably wont upgrade, and if i do ill torrent it.

BTW gordie. stfu, $30 for a new OS is cheap, if you wanna bitch about it then go buy windows 7 for $220 (INB4 linux is free, fuck that shit)

Air Drop is pretty neat, but if i had a Mac all I would do is walk around coffee shops and drop folders of really messed up porn to everyone's lap top

I want a Mac, not because it's more powerful, not because it looks better, and not because I'm "creative." I want one because I don't know what Codec to use when transcoding in Mpeg Streamclip and every shot I take looks like shit when it;s done rendering and there are no tutorials for windows........

oh I know some people want macs for actual reasons. but everyone pretty much thinks that all the things you listed are the only reasons people want them.

only way i'd be running windows is if i built my own computer. and it'd have to be a laptop cause i can't carry a desktop around school. plus i could just run another non windows/mac OS.

Just discovered a couple random new cool things with Lion, might be useful for some people. If your in pretty much any app and you see a word you want to look up in the dictionary, assuming you have a multi touch pad, you can double click on it with three fingers and it brings up a sick mini dialogue with all the different definitions and stuff and a snippet from the wikipedia page for the word.

He means that if you bought Snow Leopard from anywhere in the last several years it was $30. And considering you obviously bought an Apple computer at some point, your "I'm so fucking poor" argument is total bullshit.

It's not like Windows. It's like your entire screen has nothing but that program on it and you can swipe 4 fingers left and right to go in between programs. Pretty sick while editing.

Not crazy about the changes to the gestures. Why did they need to change all the existing swipes and such? I haven't even figured out how to clear all programs to see my desktop really quick, and that used to just be 4 fingers up. 4 fingers down was the same as "Mission Control" now. Stupid to change the name and call it new.

Everyone should update though, there are guaranteed to be new security updates, programs, etc. that won't run on Snow Leopard in the future.

Okay, some good news. Go to settings and poke around the trackpad section until you set the gestures up as you like. It's easy to change back to what you are used to for the most part, and the pinch to open up all you programs in a flash is sick! I thought Launchpad was a stupid idea, but being able to go to all your programs and open them up in about 3 seconds is nice.

How about an '08 MBP with upgraded RAM? I have multi-touch... Just debating whether or not I need an upgrade ATM... Snow leopard is working fine.. is this a lot better? I use iCal and Mail a lot.. so it sounds worth the $$

Personally I think it works fantastic, it just flows. Like the full screen apps have no dock to interrupt you, and they are in separate pages, so if you have more than one open, just scroll to your next app. It has a few other things, but it's still sick. faster too
