Replying to Glidecam experience with HDSLR

I know it's another damned glidecam thread but I'm hoping to get some questions answered.  I just got my glidecam-2000HD for my Nikon D7000 and am trying to get it balanced.  Anyways does anyone have experience using it with a HDSLR?  What lense do you use because even changing focus or focal length seems to change the weighting and balance and it seems like a huge pain to actually use on the fly.  Am I just new to the system and need to keep using it until I'm more comfortable?  Is it easy to quickly rebalance the glidecam?  Also how long would you say it takes to properly balance the system and how long does it take for you to get used to actually filming with a glidecam?  Any help would be amazing.
