700 for a condo
100-200 for food
no idea how much a months worth of tickets would cost though

Unless you're living on a super hobo budget it would all add up pretty quickly

man do you realize how ridiculously expensive whistler is? this isnt the us. sure if you live here full time and already have your seasons pass bought (which is $1700), then yea you dont need 2000 a month to live. but if you wanted to come here from somewhere else, ski everyday, not be sharing a house with 20 australians, eat more than just top ramen, and maybe go out at night a couple times you would be amazed at how fast it all adds up. Housing, groceries and lift tickets are all really expensive. And lets be honest, if you come to whist then your probably gunna go partying at some point...hello $7 beers. Its easily in the top 5 most expensive places in canada, and obviously along with that comes 13% taxes...yea it not cheap here

realistically I hoping 700 for rent, I sure as hell hope I wont be spending 1300 on booze and food a month. Yes whistler is expensive, but you can still be smart and find good deals. $80 for food a week is pretty realistic. And the bars get old in whistler fast, so fuck it I can't be bothered to waste my money frequently there. And the passes are expensive for sure, luckily I can get a student pass.

I guess when it comes to JUST a month it could get expensive, but if you live out there for 6-12 month, i bet you could cut to down to under 1000 easy. Plus, id expect you'd have a job at the resort so you'd get a pass and housing for a decent price. Really, going anywhere for just a month is going to be a waste.

I'm glad I've never lived in Whistler. If vacations are any guide, I'd have killed myself with alcohol, clubbing and stupidly dangerous lines within the first month.

I AM HOPING TO SPEND >600/MONTH ON RENT (INCLUDING UTILITIES). IS THAT REALISTIC? I EXPECT 7 MONTHS IN WHISTLER IS GOING TO COST ~$10K (FLIGHTS, PASS, FOOD/BEER, RENT). I WISH NOVEMBER WOULD COME FASTER.

this sounds fun, but in reality, working for intrawest is terrible and staff accom is usually pretty grimey and tight, alongside literally hundreds of filthy, obnoxious aussies. I would suggest getting an evening job at a restaurant, and submitting your resume in september or even late august.

I WAS HOPING TO LIVE IN CREEKSIDE OR SOMEWHERE WITHIN BUSING DISTANCE OF A GONDOLA (BAYSHORE, ALPINE, ETC.). WOULD THOSE PLACES BE WITHIN MY BUDGET? THE VILLAGE IS DEFINITELY OUT OF THE QUESTION, BUT I DO NOT MIND THAT BECAUSE IT WILL HOPEFULLY PREVENT ME FROM SPENDING AS MUCH MONEY

Creekside is actually within walking distance of the gondola. I'd choose creekside over the village to be honest. There are some shitty apartments in creekside, kind of close to Rolands, but other than that, creekside is going to be quite expensive too.

You can look around, but I'd say it's next to impossible to find a place for two for the price you're looking at spending. It's also very hard to find a place unless you're actually in town looking around. If you can go up for a few days to check out some places and meet landlords, I'd suggest that. I lived in a pretty shit (but also very rad) 2 bedroom with loft with 4 others and it was $650 for one of the bedrooms.

To save some money, get groceries from Marketplace instead of the other stores, and buy beer/booze from BC liquor instead of the other places.
