I caught two jellyfish in a bucket the other day when i was kayaking and heres the result:
I am momentarily aerating (sp) the water with a squeeze pump deal, and i give them plenty of light so they can photosynthesize. I was wondering if anyone out there has ever done something like this before since this is so relaxing to watch them move around in the lights. Also if anyone has done this, have you ever had them grow significantly?

so far they are still moving and when i aerate it creates a current so they seem to be doing ok for now..
also my friends brother is gonna watch these things move when hes on acid haha
Jellyfish are extremely fragile creatures. Taking care of them is an art in itself. Jellyfish aquariums can be place at home or in office. They present a charming spectacle. Here are some pointers to raise and nurture jellyfish in an aquarium. Read on to enlighten yourself and breed jellyfish in your own unique way.

Step 1: Choose an aquarium that provides a constant flow of water. There are many different types of jellyfish tanks. Two among them are jelliquariums and kreisel Tanks. A jelliquarium has a skimming surface and an anti-siphon design that helps keep water flowing properly. The absence of corners in it help keep the jellyfish safer. A kreisel tank is a circular style aquarium which has no corners. This reduces the risk of damage to the jellyfish. The water flows through this jellyfish aquarium in a circular motion, and water flows both in and out to provide suspension.
Step 2: The location of the aquarium is particularly important. Keep it away from any source of heat and direct sunlight.
Step 3: Install the filter. Rinse the water. Add a layer of aquarium gravel. Use glass marbles to cover the gravel so that there is a smooth surface for the jellyfish.
Step 4: Add saltwater to the jellyfish aquarium. Check the temperature of the water and water flow. Preparing the water to hold and safely maintain jellyfish can take some time, but is essential.
Step 5: After your aquarium is operating properly put bacteria in it. It will aid in digesting jellyfish waste.
Step 6: Choose lighting that will help the jellyfish glow. Jellyfish give a nice glow when light is shone on them in a dark background.
Step 7: Buy the jellyfish of your choice. Contrary to popular perception, there are several distinct types of jellyfish. These include blue blubber jellyfish, lagoon jellyfish, moon jellyfish, and many more. Jellyfish are fragile and need to be transported very carefully.
Step 8: A significant factor to consider while raising jellyfish is their lifespan. Do purchase high quality jellyfish from a reputable breeder. A lot of care is required to raise the fragile jellyfish in an aquarium.
Step 9: Baby jellies require freshly hatched brine shrimp to feed on. Adult jellyfish require adult brine shrimps or frozen jelly food such as shaved mysis shrimp that are available at most jellyfish stores. Jellyfish also feed on algae.
Step 10: You need to clean the jellyfish aquarium periodically. Scoop your jellies out of the aquarium in a big bucket.
