Computer/editing question

So I just recently bough a sony hdr-fx7, after I purchased it and tried to make a video I realized my current computer just wasn't made for it(It couldn't playback the HD footy or render it.) So I have around $900 and I am looking for a computer that will be able to handle it. and I was wondering if it would be able to do the job. Also if you have any other recommendations those would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help :)

Well, thats a pretty decent stock setup.

>Processor
6 core is pretty impressive, definitely will handle your video editing needs. Not the biggest fan of AMD but they are a decent budget option second to intel.
>RAM
8GB, definitely enough for any 64bit program (i'd recommend you use Adobe Premiere CS5 64 bit for editing)
>HDD
I'd stick to maybe a 1TB drive, or even a 750, they are easier to back up and are more reliable than a 1.5TB drive. You can always buy a second from newegg to use as backup only or as footage only
>GPU
I'd suggest upgrading to the 6670, its definitely a better card than the "stock" option.

Overall, a decent computer. I don't think you could go wrong with it! just make sure it comes with a firewire port or you wont be able to import from your FX7

if you want to save your money you could just edit in a lower res then use the full size clips for the final product export.

I think the main thing you should worry about is getting rid of that fx7 and getting a better camera.

the fx7 is trash, unless you paid like 800 bucks for it. in the 2000-3000 dollar range of cameras, there are so many more better options than a fx7.
