2 things, ski help and question on binding

1. Im like 5'6 maybe and want a powder ski and was looking at the 2012 sir francis bacon. Dont know if that would be good.

2. Then I was wondering..whats the point of the pivot heel pieces on the rossis and look bindings. Thanks

Dude if ya want it for pow...get the opus or the '11 bacons....but don't be put off by the opus thinking it's a strictly pow ski...I've had it a little while now and have only ridden it on hardpack summer crap and it rocks....to me the opus is like a more badass version of last years bacons and the 12' bacons are like a more badass version of the cryptos....but trust me on this...do not compare the opus to last years ep pros....it's stiffer and a little slimmer and absolutely shreds the crud....good luck either way

Oh and the pivot heel has a better release..there's alot more to it than that but the quick version is that you'll less likely tweak your knee...those bindings are bombproof too...worth every penny

its a turntable heel, so it spins if you happen to fall or have a hard impact for easier release

Sorry...I jus assumed that the word "pivot" would be a dead give away that the heel piece "pivots"....haha

Honestly that might be a little too big for you, depending on how strong of q skier you are. Maybe try looking into something like the 175 jj. I'm 5'10 and I ride a 181, which feels perfect

Yea I cut a piece of wood thats 180cm and it seems a lil big for me. But 175sh seems good. Just gotta find the skis first.

Well I can tell ya that when I first demoed last years bacons I demoed the 182s and after the first day my buddy wanted to try them too so he went to the demo place but all they had was the 172....after half a day he was wanted to trade with me cause he's 6'3" and I'm 6'....so I did because I'm not too picky....well I rode those 172s for a day and a half no problem....for me I wouldn't buy them at that length but for you being 5'5" I think they'd be fine.....actually at your height couldn't you get away with the 178 opus?....your actual skiable length would only be like 168 or somethin and that ski friggin rocks the house dude...no bs.
