Extreme mod crackdown.

I'm so sick and tired of everyone ripping on everyone else, and then people claiming what a fantastic place NS was a few years ago.

If everyone dislikes all the hate so much, maybe we should do something about it. Is it out of the option for the mods to crackdown really hard and ban people who spew completely un-needed hate? the ban would only be for a few days but hopefully people would just regulate themselves because of it.

And i'm fairly certain it's a very clear line between un-needed hate and people voicing their opinion.

I realize it's a ridiculous idea, but what if NS could return to the place it once was for all you veterans.

well i'm sick of people who joined in 2008 rambling about how it sucks now. it just gets old when you expect to click a thread and read about sick stuff, but instead it's just senseless ramble/hate/other bs.

A lot of forums have a profanity filter in place, so you have to re-read your post to make sure you can get your opinion across without using it - so I think this would help. If people reread shit, maybe they wouldn't be so hateful right off the bat.

could be a reward system, so that a mod mark a person down if they do something bad and they get negative marks, with enough marks that person could be ip banned. or when a person writes something that contributes in a good way the mod marks him down and after enough rewards that member could return those points for some type of whatever /runonsentence

Its not an excuse but it is understandable that it happens. There's plenty of useless shit in the winter but it goes unnoticed of how much more ski content there is. During summer kids have nothing better to do than to sit at home post crap on NS all day.

hahah i never complained about the site you dip shit, i was commenting that NS hasn't been the "good" ns since like 2005, that was all. I think you're just a little mad about something, but i cant put my finger on it. And im going to one extra semester of school OMG maybe because i took 12 credits every winter. If i actually took 15-17 credits every semester i would have graduated. I also got a minor and switched majors my jr year. Anymore ignorant statements? You my friend, are the dumbass, kindly go fuck off.

i think it would work. with the alias issue, make it known that banned members creating alias' will have a more severe ban/ip ban. and i agree with OP, i never thought id say this but im getting a little sick of nsg now, a good portion of the threads are not enjoyable whatsoever. its sometimes amusing, but a lot of people dont know where the line is. might have to move on back to m&a and see what ski gabbers all about..

Sage, NS is just like real life: lead by example, and maybe people will follow when they realize the benefits of what you're doing.

NS has the capacity to be amazing. It still is, but that depends on the kindness, integrity, ideas, and contributions of its members. Laughter is great. Solid posts matter.

It's members like you that keep me coming back to NS. I've been lurking on NS for about 5 years now (but made an account a year ago) and NS has never really changed in my opinion. Yes, there is some spam, pointless threads, and some idiots on, but I feel that the quality of the site is great. It's easy to get caught up in the trolls and the younger members' stupidity, but there are a lot of good people here.

I feel ya on this. It's an excuse, but a very poor one. People on here obviously have no people skills and would not say any of their hate face to face with a person. I have been subject of hate for the 9 years or so on this site. IP banning would be so clutch to clear the threads of goons clogging threads with hate and useless BS.

as for the rest of this thread, there is no need for an extreme mod crackdown. there is no "hateful" thing beyond the rules already in place that you can categorically ban people for.. people are going to share their (sometimes retarded, misguided, stupid, misinformed, awful, terrible, no good, very bad) opinions on the internet, deal with it. can't go asking for IP bans every time your feelings get hurt or someone posts something retarded

this site has changed a lot over the years and there may be more young idiots but if you think there wasn't just as much mindless hate back then, your memory is shaky
